Nikola Vucevic, Magic closing in on four-year, $53M contract extension

The Magic are committing big years and dollars to young big man Nik Vucevic.

Orlando is wrapping up a four-year, $53 million contract extension with the 24-year-old center, the Orlando Sentinel reported Tuesday night.

The deal will begin with the 2015-16 season and keep Vucevic from becoming a restricted free agent next summer. All of the money will be guaranteed, and Vucevic will not be able to opt out of the deal before it expires, according to the Sentinel.

Vucevic has become the most significant piece that Orlando acquired in the Dwight Howard trade. He averaged 14.2 points and 11.0 re

bounds last season, although he was limited to 57 games because of injuries.
