Report: LeBron James made $30 million in Beats Electronics purchase

It's good to be "The King."

Sure, LeBron James finds his Heat down 2-1 to the Spurs in the NBA Finals. Sure, he continues to be ridiculed for the cramps he sustained late in Game 1. But James is just three wins away from a third straight title, and his empire could be getting stronger.

According to an ESPN report, the team has already started to prepare a plan in which they would sign Carmelo Anthony as a free agent to turn the "Big Three" into the "Big Four."

But the most interesting part of the report isn't that Anthony could be joining James, Bosh and Wade, but that James made a pretty penny when Apple purchased Beats Electronics.

"Sources briefed on the situation say James realized a profit of more than $30 million in cash and stock in the Beats sale after he had struck a deal to get a small stake in the company at its inception in 2008 in exchange for promoting its high-end headphones."

James is a

freak athlete, but he also has a tremendous basketball I.Q.

Apparently his smarts aren't restricted to the hardwood. Sure, he may not "need" the money, but he definitely earned it.
