OKC Thunder receive two second-round picks as third team in Bayless-Lee swap

The Oklahoma City Thunder have picked up two conditional second-round picks in a three-team trade, the team announced Tuesday.

Oklahoma City sent forward R

yan Gomes to the Boston Celtics and cash considerations to the Memphis Grizzlies to nab the two picks, according to general manager Sam Presti. The Celtics waived Gomes almost immediately after picking him up, according to Royce Young of CBSSports.com.

In the deal, the Thunder will get the 2014 Philadelphia 76ers’ second-round pick, which was owned by the Grizzlies, and the Grizzlies’ 2017 second-round selection.

The Thunder were the third team in a previously announced swap through which the Celtics get Jerryd Bayless and the Grizzlies receive Courtney Lee and a 2016 second-round pick.

In addition to the picks, the Thunder's move puts them more than $2 million under the tax threshold and leaves open two roster spots.
