Tre Boston is returning to Carolina.
The Panthers and the 27-year-old safety have agreed to a one-year, $3 million contract, according to a report from ESPN, which cites an unidentified league source.
Boston spent last season with the Cardinals, where he recorded 79 total tackles and three interceptions in 14 games.
Boston was originally selected by the Panthers out of North Carolina in the fourth round of the 2014 draft. He spent his first three seasons with the team and has also played for the Chargers during his five-year career.
Boston is expected to compete for the starting safety spot next to Eric Reid, who is entering his second season with Carolina.
Reid signed a three-year contract extension, worth over $22 million, with the Panthers in February.
